IT IS DONE wins Scenie Awards

Theatre40‘s production of IT IS DONE was recognized by The Los Angeles Scenie Awards for outstanding achievement in Southern California Theatre by review site Stage Scene L.A.

IT IS DONE was awarded the following:

Outstanding Production of a Drama (Intimate Theater)

Outstanding Performance for Lead Actress in a Drama (Intimate Theater) – Kate Whitney

Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama (Intimate Theater)
Kurtis Bedford, George Villas and Kate Whitney

Outstanding Direction of a Drama (Intimate Theater) – Jeff G. Rack.

And a big congrats to Theatre40 for being selected as one of the BEST INTIMATE THEATERS this year and Michele Young being one of the COSTUME DESIGNER OF THE YEAR recipients.

CLOSURE has Los Angeles premiere, wins third festival award

Closure had its Los Angeles (and West Coast) premiere on Thursday, November 1st in The 18th Annual Valley Film Festival at the Laemmle in North Hollywood.

Hundreds filled the largest theater in the multiplex, including cast, crew, friends, and families.

At the end of the festival the movie won the Ten Degrees Hotter Award for Best Narrative Feature Film.

This is our third award in four festivals. Next stop for the movie: Austin Indie Fest, Saturday November 10th.

LYING NAKED wins two awards

Lying Naked, which was nominated for four best of fest awards in Planet Connection Festivity, walked away with two wins: Outstanding Overall Production of a Short Play, One-Act, or Monologue, and Rosebud Baker for Outstanding Actress in a One-Act Production.  Congrats to all for a successful run.

LYING NAKED receives four nominations

Planet Connections Festivity announced nominations for best of the fest, and Lying Naked received a nomination in each category it was eligible: Outstanding Overall Production of a Short Play, One-Act, or Monologue, Alex Goldberg for Outstanding Playwriting Short Form (One Act) , Rosebud Baker for Outstanding Actress in a One-Act Production, and Dominic Spillane for Outstanding Actor in a One-Act Production.  In addition, the play was part of Clandestine, an evening of One-Acts, produced by New Ground  Theatre Collective, and was nominated for Outstanding Overall Production of an Entire Evening of One-Acts.  Winners will be announced August 1st.
